How to Play WordSprint

WordSprint is a free daily word puzzle game where you guess a hidden 5-letter word in 6 tries or less. It's simple to learn but challenging to master!

Basic Rules

  1. Guess the word: You have 6 attempts to find the hidden 5-letter word
  2. Enter letters: Type any 5-letter English word and press Enter
  3. Read the clues: After each guess, the tiles change color to show how close you are
  4. Win condition: Find the word before running out of guesses!

Understanding the Colors

After each guess, tiles will light up to give you clues:

Green Tiles = Correct Letter, Correct Position

The letter is in the word AND in the right spot

Keep this letter where it is!

Yellow Tiles = Correct Letter, Wrong Position

The letter is in the word but somewhere else

Try moving this letter to a different position.

Gray Tiles = Letter Not in Word

This letter doesn't appear in the word at all

Avoid using this letter in future guesses.

Winning Strategies

  1. Start with common letters: Words with E, A, R, S, T, L, N help eliminate options fast
  2. Use good starter words: Try ADIEU, AUDIO, STARE, CRANE, or RAISE for your first guess
  3. Don't repeat gray letters: They're not in the word - save your guesses!
  4. Pay attention to yellows: If a letter is yellow, it's definitely in the word somewhere
  5. Think about common patterns: English has common endings like -ING, -TION, -ER, -ED
  6. Practice makes perfect: Use Practice Mode to improve without waiting for tomorrow's puzzle
